About Us

The Civil Service Library and Documentation Unit was fully operational since June 1992. It acts as a support service to the Human Resource Development Division of the Ministry of Public Service, Administrative and Institutional Reforms.

Our Vision

The vision of the library is to provide modern, efficient and quality library services, responsive to the needs of officers in the Public Service.

Our Mission

1.

To provide reading materials on loan/for reference to Public Officers

2.

And to assit them for their own enhancement of their knowledge, Skills and intellectual competence.

Collection

The Civil Service Library and Documentation Unit is a specialized library having wide range of books on management and associated topics. The collection also consists of circulars, magazines, journals and reports.

Lending Services

The Library provides lending facilities, free of charge to its registered members. Two books may be borrowed by a library member for a period of not exceeding one month and one magazine for two weeks.


Reference services


A wide collection of publications such as circulars, reports, books, newspapers and magazines as available for referencing. Seating accomodation is provided for about fifteen readers at a time in a pleasant environment for the purpose of research and study

Reprographic services

Photocopy service is restricted to library materials. Photocopying of extracts of up to ten pages free of charge can be made on request, subject to ​the provisions of Copyright  Act 1997.
